MINDS Charity 10 point plan to improve WCA “Biggest load of Bollocks I’ve ever seen”…

The best thing for all the charities would be for them to stop working with the government, they wont do that because they would then lose funding which they so greatly depend on,

Charities just like the Scottish GPs should be demanding the scrapping of the WCA, replacing it with a just and fair and safe system, one that people need not fear, come on charities, start thinking of those people who need help instead of yourselves for once?…

My 10-point plan

So here’s what I have in mind for the rest of the year; a 10-point plan for improving the welfare and benefits system. We will:

1.    push for additional evidence in the WCA process

2.    work to convince the Government of the need for expert assessors for mental health

3.    look for a solution to the ‘revolving door’ of endless WCA appeals and reassessments

4.    make sure the Government backs some research to properly test whether the criteria used in the WCA are fit for purpose

5.    push for further improvements to the new PIP assessment, particularly the mobility component, to ensure it fully recognises mental health

6.    influence plans for the new PIP assessment to ensure it avoids the flaws of the WCA model

7.    look into what the Work Programme is doing to support people with mental health problems and continue our work to make workplaces more mentally healthy

8.    push back on the excessive use of conditions on the benefits of disabled people and harsh sanctions when these are broken

9.    work with grassroots campaigners locally and online to build a stronger campaigning community

10.    target key sections of the media to help shift public opinion on welfare and benefits.
It won’t be easy, these changes would lead to real improvements for people with mental health problems using the benefits and welfare system.
What do you think? How do you want to be involved? And what can we do to help you campaign on these issue?

  1. Charities showed their real faces when they pretended they were not working with the government on workfare including pretending they had no part in sanctions when they were.

It really changed my view of charities forever.

Paul your 10 point plan is both fair and sensible and that’s why it will not work…….

    • bbest

The article may be misleading or I’ve not titled it properly?

The 10 point plan is that of the Charity MINDS and NOT mine, sorry for any mixup, my fault bbest…

      • … I still don’t get it? Sounds like what really needs doing; beyond the ‘Harringtoin Review’ paying lip-service around it, at least. Do you think it too obvious or contrived to not be BS, admin?

  2. yes but its not going to help look they only going for a watered down version and will still do harm to the sick and disabled and whot ever the charities say the torys will pherhaps implement one or two watered down version just to say charities had input to said policys bs they trying to deny us our basic rights and would rather we withered away wake up and get rid of these parasites they wont help jeff3

  3. It’s just words again, with no real strength or backing from anybody/person who could make these points count or who could act upon them.In any government position that matters.
Well looking at what i have just read, WE ARE ON OUR OWN.
