Benefits cheats should be shamed by having their photo pinned to every lamppost in their street, an official at the Department for Work and Pensions said.
Benefits cheats cost British taxpayers more than £1 billion a year and Terry Moran, Director General, Chief Operating Officer at DWP wants to disgrace these bogus claimants.
‘If I had my way I would put their photograph on every lamppost in the street where they live because it is a very distressing thing for genuinely disabled people to see the reputation of disabled people damaged in the way that [it] is by those people,’ Mr Moran said at the Civil Service Live conference in London.

we get all the real fraudsters on the TV headlines at the present, banksters and staff, politicians and corporate entertainment, drug companies pushing dangerous drugs, employment company bosses and staff ; they’ll do for me, but maybe their pictures should be posted on all lamppost all over the country before anyone else at this time as their crimes are totally out of order and bigger.
Well said, and i love the Patrick Macgoohan pic, (cant spell his name lol).
This article is expressing the govs latest attempt to shift blame on those who dont exist over that of themselves.
As i keep saying, had any benefit cheat ever been found frauding the disability welfare, the press would have a field day, it would dupe the public into thinking “theres one, there must be millions”…
But none whatsoever has been genuinely found so this is all bull.
They are truly scraping the barrel.
As the above post says the real criminals are not named and shamed.
The real criminals of any benefit connected fraud are those spouting hate and lies about the entirety of claimants, whatever the reason theyre claiming for!
Well, well, well, look what I found.
Read the article and then see one of the names (amongst many) that comes up at the bottom.

If Terry Moran gets his way ?, wouldn’t that mean that if the person he “wants to disgrace” ends up being attack or worse, then Terry Moran would/should be up on a charge of incitement ?, goes to show the mentality of the DWP Director General, Chief Operating Officer!!!. I would call it a vindictive mentality, has he not heard, we have a legal system thats deals with “Benefits cheats”, he should be sacked.
Oh grow up Mr Moran or we’ll have to pin up photos of ATOS staff, DWP staff, the Condems etc on every street corner to shame THEM. What goes around comes around, unless we get to you first, to quote a cliched but strangely accurate saying.
My subtext: I’ve had it up to here with these arseholes, they’ve all got to go- if not now, yesterday!!
If only there were some way of determining who were the cheats and who were the genuine, often desperate, claimants of what the law says they should be entitled to.
Hmm… now let me think… in theory, some sort of ‘Director General’, or ‘Chief Operating Officer’ perhaps, of the DWP, ought to come up with some kind of plan for such a thing, and take responsibility for how well it turns out…
Perhaps it could be a system where the cheats, who ‘know the ropes’ and therefore know what answers to give, are somehow seperated from those who are genuinely ill, who have enough on their plate without having to rehearse some kind of bogus script to present to some arbitrarily assigned ‘health professional’ who isn’t qualified in the problem at hand. That would be good surely…?
And just think… if that kind of service could be rolled-out across the country, and made available to all who are in need of health care, with those patients then being referred to a specialist in the field of their particular problem, then we could give it a name like ‘National Health Service’, or something. That way the government wouldn’t need to employ a private company, since its own ‘National Health Service’ employees would have already given their professional opinion.
It’s a radical idea, but it could work… couldn’t it…?
I posted originally on the Black Triangle site but think it is worth repeating -
What, I wonder, would be the effect of putting up posters along the streets of those senior officials from DWP and parliament with their photos and details of how they had lied to get their benefits? Would it be reported ‘objectively’ in the DT or would those responsible have their collars felt?
It does seem worth a try, especially when the subsequent court proceedings would necessarily need to reprt the details of what had been said and done,
My thoughts go out to the executives of companies running SlaveFare, falsely briefing the press, distorting statistics – God the list is almost endless.
The other thought is – Is what he did an act of disability hate crime? On the face of it, advocating special action against a specified group with protected rights would make it one but then, I am no lawyer, just a pissed off member of the disabled community.
Congratulations to John at Black Triangle for not letting this one go, a blatant breach of the Code which leaves little room for the scum to wriggle away from.
This moron shouldn’t be CEO of the DWP. He should be in Parliament as a minister.
‘If I had my way I would put their photograph on every lamppost in the street where they live because it is a very distressing thing for genuinely disabled people to see the reputation of disabled people damaged in the way that [it] is by those people,’ Mr Moran said at the Civil Service Live conference in London.
I believe Mr Moran is refering to all of those people who qualify as disabled by virtue of having, to quote the UN Convention on the rights of people with disabilities;
‘ an impairment, illness, injury or health
condition and who may face barriers to being
included in society. It includes Deaf people,
people with learning disabilities, people with
sensory impairments, people with physical
impairments, people with mental health
conditions, people with autism, people with
epilepsy and people who are HIV positive.
The Convention says that ‘a person with a
disability’ includes people with long-term
impairments. However, it could also cover
people with short-term disabilities. There are
around 11 million disabled people in Britain
who have rights under the Convention.’
AND have been found ‘Fit for work’ under the WCA.
Terry Moran, Director General, Chief Operating Officer at DWP is therfore advocating actions which are contrary to the covention which gives the following rights under the UN Convention on the Rights of People with Disabilities:
Article 15 Freedom from torture or cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment
‘No one must be tortured or subject to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.Degrading treatment means
treatment that is grossly humiliating and undignified.’
Article 16 Freedom from exploitation, violence and abuse
‘Governments must do everything they can to: protect disabled people from all forms of exploitation, violence and abuse at home and in the community’
(uncrpdguide.pdf)
This is bull!, if a cheat was ever to be found within the disability welfare, that cheat would have been named by now, used and spread thru the media as an example. A real fraud would save camerons arse because we all know, if one was found? People would say “if there is one, there must be many”
cant see how, even those being dragged thru atos still fall for this shit.
Theres no fraud , never was and gov say things like this to fake a reason of doubt, the average joe reads this and agrees, but no fraud has been found so gov pretend and lie.
We all know how being genuinely disabled or ill is impossible to get through Atos, with medical evidence any fraudster woild be screwed.
Why are you all still lapping up this bull? blame the gov who are fascists and quit agreeing with does not exist!
Damn right. There are countless instances where the Gov have disobeyed European law. My question is- how can we raise the money to prosecute them? Ideas anyone?
