Do three months of unpaid work or lose your dole: Warning to young jobless in benefit crackdown

Thousands of the young unemployed are to be  barred from receiving benefits unless they agree to do three months of unpaid  work to prepare them for the jobs market.

A pilot scheme launched yesterday will apply  to new benefit claimants aged 18-24 unless they can show they have already had a  significant job.

They will be expected to spend 30 hours a  week on ‘community benefit’ work experience in places such as charity shops and  care homes or delivering meals on wheels.

  1. It’s about time someone found Grayling and his mates a real job, instead of sitting on their a**es and coming up with another stupid, flawed scheme to get people to work for a pittance. Workers have fought for decades to get decent wages and conditions but the Tories are hell-bent on getting everyone back into the Workhouse. Well, Mr. Grayling, how about earning some of your super-inflated salary and start creating some real jobs, with decent wages to go with them, instead of trying to get everyone working in the local charity shop for f**k all!

  2. look at Grayling’s register of interests

Dev Dadral founded SWIIS in 1988 to provide recruitment solutions in social care. Due to the many successful and productive professional relationships with social services departments, SWIIS has since then been able to expand its range of services in both social and health care. As part of this development, in 1999 Dev established SWIIS Foster Care. Dev’s vision for setting up SWIIS Foster Care was, and still remains, to meet the growing need for quality assured placements offering the highest standards of care for children and young people,

  3. what the hell are these guys SMOKING,,,, this 30hr week of unpaid work,,,, should be used looking ,,,for a real job,,,,if any to be found ,,the goverment should get real ,,,,if they made it cheaper for employers to employ more people,,, i recon that measure would take hundreds of thousands off dole,,,and a big question mark with unpaid work,,,, WHAT HAPPENS IF THEY ARE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT,,,DO THEY GET ANY COMPENSATION FOR INJURY,,,LOSS OF EARNINGS ,,,,????????????? ETC,,,,, ARE MEMBERS OF STAFF GOING TO BE PUT OUT TO PASTURE??????????? WILLTHEY THEN

  4. WILL THEY THEN BE FORCED,,,TO WORK FOR NO WAGES AS WELL????????????????????????????????????????????? AS YOU CAN SEE THEIR ARE A LOT OF QUESTION MARKS,,,,,,, ONE POSSIBLE ANSWER COULD BE IF ALL THE MINISTERS WORKED FOR A YEAR WITHOUT PAY,,,,,,, OR EXPENSES,,,,,,,,,{nice little earner] would they be so enthusiastic about their policies ,,,,,,, I also believe these policies are aimed at the poorer people in life [ WHICH IN REALITY IS THE LABOUR VOTERS ] this is our punishment for having our right to vote,,,,,,,seems so to me

  5. well guys this did’nt work when i left school in 1977…it was cheap labour then and even cheaper now..will these kids get a choice? or will they be told..if this is the case then all it it will do is piss as many teens of as possible..cameron-smith-grayling..slave masters and how much is it worth to employers..with over 2 million still out of work…money is still being wasted by those waste of spaces…when their not killing people they want to make slaves of them…i mean slaves did’nt get payed and they worked more than 30 hours a week…THE FIGHT GOES ON…REGARDS…SANDRA.
