Alfie Boe begs fans to ‘be careful’ as fraudsters imitate him to ‘swindle money’ | Celebrity News | Showbiz and television

Alfie Boe, 48, sent an important message to his social media followers after it became clear that scammers were taking advantage of his celebrity status to extort money from fans. Alfie said the scammers created fake accounts claiming to be the singer and contacted fans asking for money.

In a statement shared to Alfie’s Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages, the singer wrote, “ATTENTION. Fake social media and fraudulent accounts.

“Please can all my followers be aware of fake and fraudulent social media profiles impersonating me.

“They contacted my fans and followers to try to scam people out of money and set up meet and greets.

“My official social media pages have the official ‘blue tick’ next to my name.

“So I ask you all to be careful when interacting with anyone online and NEVER transfer money to anyone impersonating me.”

Worried Alfie fans responded to the comments to thank him for the warning, with some adding that they had already been victimized by the scammers.

Nicki replied: “It happened to me last week and I contacted your management company.

“Absolutely disgusted that this person impersonating you said they would like to meet my poor dad at one of your summer gigs.”

The duo’s Together This Summer tour will visit 10 venues across the UK, including London, Norwich and Plymouth.

Michael said he was “so happy” to be back on stage with Alfie given his 75,000 Instagram followers.

The Les Misérables star wrote: “I am delighted to announce that @mralfieboe and I will be playing a small number of outdoor shows in June and July.

“It makes me so happy that we can finally be #together this summer.”

Hundreds of fans responded to comments to tell the duo how excited they were to see them in action.

Valerie said: “Everything is booked, I can’t wait to be there!”

Linda echoed, “I got mine…I can’t wait.”

And Rhiannon added: “Getting tickets can’t wait. Saw you at hydro last year – best night of my life, made my mom cry tears of happiness.
