Obianno released on bail – says EFCC boss Bawa

Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Chairman Abdulrasheed Bawa revealed on Monday that the former immediate Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, was released on administrative bail by the Anti-Corruption Agency. corruption.

The EFCC boss who spoke at the fifth annual general meeting of the Network of National Anti-Corruption Institutions in West Africa (NACIWA) in Abuja, explained that the ex-governor did not, however, not yet complete his bail conditions.

He noted there was nothing political about the ex-governor’s arrest, adding that he was cooperating to meet the bail conditions.

He said: ‘There is nothing political about the investigation. You know what the EFCC stands for. We investigate crimes, we examine people who have committed crimes and connect them, and then we go to court. That’s all we’ve done and that’s what we’ll continue to do.

We have been accused of media trials. But we will continue to conduct our investigation in a professional manner.

“He has been released on bail and we are waiting for him to perfect his bail conditions and he has cooperated with us and everything is going well.

Recall that on Thursday, Obiano was arrested at the airport after the inauguration ceremony of the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuemka Soludo.
