UK financial firms warn of working from home and insider threats


Law360, London (April 30, 2021, 5:47 p.m. BST) – Bankers and insurers have told regulators and criminal agency officials that their systems are subject to work from home and could also be compromised by malicious or accidental workers.

Insider threats from current and former employees pose a “great challenge” to the technical operations of financial services companies, according to a Financial Conduct Authority article published Thursday.

Companies have said one of the biggest insider threats comes from staff who have privileged technical access to systems, or former workers who still have access and can reach operations remotely, the regulator said.
